The 2 Million Dollar Website FAQ
What is the idea?The idea is simple: to try and make $2m (US) or so by selling 2,000,000 pixels for as little as $.10 each. The main motivation for doing this is to pay to Start a Nonprofit organization that can benefit mankind. The Organization will be at UnchainedBrain.org (Coming Soon)
So, everyone is welcome to buy my pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels). You will see the homepage is divided into 20,000 of these 100-pixel blocks (hence there are 2,000,000 pixels in total). The reason for selling them in 100-pixel blocks is because anything smaller would be too small to display anything of interest.
You can buy as many pixels as you like, as long as there are some available (see the live stats in the top right corner of the page). When you buy some pixels, you can then display an image/ad/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click through to your own website. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed.
The pixels you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently. The homepage will not change. Using some of the money I make from the site, I guarantee to keep it online for at least 5 years, but hopefully much longer. I want it to become a kind of internet time capsule. So, in the long run, I believe the pixels will offer good value. You will have a piece of internet history!
Who Are You?My name is John McNamara, I live in a small town in Maryland, U.S.A. I'm a Network Engineer for an up and coming Information technology support company in the Washington Dc Metro Region, as well as the elected Executive Director for a Startup Non Profit Chairitiable Organization "the UncahinedBrain Foundation". I'm the typical American with a wife, 2 .13 kids (national average we only have 2 kids, for now) 2 dogs, 2 cats, a home with a picket fence (not white) and a mini van. I don't have a Website but i would like to support your Cause, what can I do?There are a few things really the first is that you can buy what we are calling a "Dedication block". These special "Dedication Blocks" will help forge the direction that the foundation will take in grants and awards.
To buy a dedication block go through the normal process but when it comes to the link field put www.unchainedbrain..org and in the "Title" field put in the text for your Favoriate Cause. it can be in momory of a loved one or just to support a cause. Please note that you can uses your own image or just use one of our many avaliable images
How did you come up with the idea?Unfortunately I didn't come up with the college bulletin board style ad site, but the idea works! lots of ads in a small space somehow does drive people to websites. But i did improve on the idea... i think

Proceeds from this site will go to start a new not for profit organization which will fund research and educational grants for those who are not afraid to think outside the box.
You Keep Mentioning a Cause, Whats The Cause?Quite Simply the cause is the creation of a new Charitiable Organization. The Unchainedbrain Foundation Founded in 2005 was created to assist those who are not afraid to think outside the box.
Meaning that we will be providing educational and research grants to those individuals, students, schools and or organizations who are willing to forgo conventional thinking and try to come up with something that will better humanity. Alternative Fuels, Mac-Lev, a new diagnoses tool for cancer, just to name a few ideas.

Are you genuine/is this a joke?I am completely genuine and although this site might be funny in various ways, it is not a joke! I really am selling pixels for as little $.10 each, I am the pixel pimp and proud! (wait till Halloween) :P
That Just doesn't Add Up...Ok your right, 1,000,000 + 500,000 + 250,000 + 50,000 does not equal 2 million dollars, but the 1,800,000 web site just sounds funny. And we are taking donations from people who just want to support our cause. So we just might reach that 2 million mark.
What will you do with all that Money?1.8 million is a lot of money so what will be done with that money, first of all the money will pay for upkeep of the websites, for the next 5 years, at least.
After that, the remainder will go towards the creation of the charity and to the grants that it will manage. The first being a research grant towards finding a cure or a better way to prevent Colon Cancer. If all goes as planned that could be awarded in late March 2006.
Breakdown of Money

- 1,000,000 Educational / Research Grants and Scholorships
- 300,000 Website Maintance and Office Expenses
Is my donation Tax Deductiable?It will be, we are in the process of making the foundation a charity so all donations will eventually tax deductible I'll keep you updated.
Why should I buy your Pixels?Because you will have an image and a link to your site on the homepage of a site that could potentially be seen by millions of people over the coming years. The site will be online for at least 5 years, that's guaranteed, but the idea is to keep it online forever. So you really could own a piece of 'internet history'!
On top of that part of the income of this site will be used for paid advertising on various websites, Google, Yahoo, MSN to name a few that way, for as little as 10 bucks you can get a prominent ad on one of those pages for the next 5 years. No where that I have found.
Besides its for a good cause...
Why Can't I buy Just one Pixel?I decided that although it would probably be cool if individuals could buy a single pixel each, in practice, it wouldn't so effective. The reason I believe this is because you can't display anything meaningful in one pixel - nor click it easily - so visually, it would be pointless. With thousands of random tiny colored dots all over the place, the homepage would look ghastly. cool but Ghastly
I also thought that the site would appeal more to people with businesses/websites to advertise than it would to individuals, or to put it more accurately, businesses would pay more to have a meaningful graphic on the homepage. Hence the minimum purchase is $200 - a 10x10 block, on tier A .
Smaller businesses will appreciate Tier B for only $100 us for a 10 x 10 block it offers the same space as Tier A but for half the cost.
But the common man needs his space too that is why, the tiered approach to this website, their C and D offer the same $200 space a 10x 10 ad for only 50 and or 10 Bucks respectively, its just lower on the page.
However! If you really want to own a single pixel, there is always the option of joining together with your friends/family/colleagues and buying a 10x10 block.
